What Size Football Should I use?
Choosing the right size football makes a big difference for younger players. As a general guide for junior football in New Zealand:
Size 3 Football
Best suited to younger junior players, generally up to U9. The smaller, lighter ball is easier for developing players to control, pass and strike.
Size 4 Football
Generally used for U10 to U13 football, providing the next step up as players grow and develop their technique.
Size 5 Football
The full-size football used for U14 and older, including youth, senior and adult football.
